Chase Stevenson scored two goals to lead the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team to its fifth straight victory with a 3-1 win over UConn on Friday night, but the streak came to an end on Saturday with a 3-2 overtime loss.
Colton Huard scored in the second period to tie the game, 1-1, on Friday night.
Filip Engarås scored with 5:47 left in regulation to force overtime on Saturday night, but UConn’s Jonny Evans netted the game-winner with just 1:58 left in the overtime period.
Jackson Pierson opened the scoring for the Wildcats in the loss.
Bedford’s Mike Robinson made 29 saves on Friday night and 37 saves on Saturday.
UNH is now 12-11-1 overall and 6-8-1 in Hockey East). The Huskies are 10-10-0 and 7-6-0 in Hockey East.
