Obituary: Barbara D. Loucks, 93, Of Hamden

HAMDEN, CT – (From Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home) Barbara D. Loucks, 93, of Hamden, died peacefully at the Whitney Center Health Care Unit on March 12, 2022. Born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Harold & Gladys Sloat Dunphy, she lived in the greater New Haven area all her life.

She will be remembered most as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother as well as the host of “Barbara’s World” on WELI radio in the 1970’s & 80’s.

She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years (Carleton Loucks); she is survived by her daughter Trevor Jane Rosenthal (Charles) of Hamden, her son Darrow Loucks of Clemont, Florida and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Colarusso (Anthony) of Dover New Hampshire.

At the request of the family, all services will be privately held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Rd, Yorktown Heights, NY, 10598 (www.guidingeyes.org).
